Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

Dengue activity remained very low throughout French Guiana from mid-October 2014 to early January 2015. During this period, the number of clinically suggestive cases and probable and confirmed cases of dengue remained at stable and low levels, typically observed during the inter-epidemic period. An outbreak was identified in Cayenne, on Route de Raban: this was an outbreak of confirmed dengue cases of serotype DEN-1, the only serotype identified during this period. The epidemiological situation for dengue corresponds to Phase 1 of the Psage: "sporadic cases."
