Epidemiological Situation of Dengue Fever in French Guiana. Update as of December 11, 2015.

Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

The circulation of the dengue virus in French Guiana remained low from early October to early December (S2015-41 to 49). During this period, the number of clinically suggestive cases and probable or confirmed cases of dengue remained at stable and low levels, typically observed during the inter-epidemic period. At the end of November, an active outbreak was detected in the municipality of Matoury. Thus, the epidemiological situation of dengue on the island of Cayenne corresponds to Phase 2 of Psage: “isolated epidemic outbreaks,” while only sporadic cases are identified in the rest of the territory (Phase 1).
