Epidemiological Situation of Chikungunya in the Caribbean. Update as of December 18, 2014.

Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

In Saint Martin, an increase in the number of clinically suggestive cases appears to indicate intensified viral circulation. Saint Martin is currently in Phase 2 of the Psage*. In Saint Barthélemy, viral circulation increased in November and is now trending downward. The expert committee, which met on December 11, considers this situation to constitute a resurgence of the epidemic. The extent of this phenomenon can only be assessed over the coming weeks. The management committee, which met on December 12, decided to strengthen preventive measures. In Martinique, the epidemic continues, with indicators showing a downward trend. Martinique is in the decline phase of the epidemic. In Guadeloupe, the epidemic has been over since the third week of November.
