French Guiana: Reaching All Audiences Through "Youth Volunteers"

The family planning office of the French Guiana regional government offers a four-day training program to high school students who volunteer to lead discussion groups on sexuality at their schools. The "Jeunes-Ressources" program on gender and sexual health has been in place since 2017 and is supported by the regional education authority. The young people involved benefit personally, particularly by becoming more comfortable discussing sexuality. However, further efforts are needed to ensure they can effectively serve as ambassadors among their peers.
