In Cayenne, mobile health teams are reaching out to residents of disadvantaged neighborhoods [Interview].

In French Guiana, mobile teams from Médecins du Monde - Permanence d'accès aux soins de santé (MDM/Pass) provide social support to highly vulnerable individuals, particularly in accessing healthcare rights and medical consultations. These teams consist of mediators and healthcare professionals, both volunteers and staff members. They assisted 6,600 people and provided 1,500 consultations between March and December 2020. This partnership bridges the gap between the community and the hospital, and helps bring patients who have fallen through the cracks or dropped out of care back into the system.
