Public Health Surveillance in the Alsace Region. Epidemiological Update as of October 5, 2012

Highlights

  • Activity related to influenza and flu-like syndromes reported by the SOS Médecins associations in Strasbourg and Mulhouse has remained low over the past few weeks.

  • The number of bronchiolitis and bronchitis cases diagnosed in children under 2 years of age remains low for the SOS Médecins association in Bas-Rhin, but an increase has been observed over the past two weeks for the association in Haut-Rhin. This increase needs to be confirmed in the coming weeks.

  • After a period of lower activity related to gastroenteritis and diarrhea during the summer, the number of diagnoses of these conditions by the SOS Médecins associations in Alsace has been rising again since mid-August.
