Key Developments

  • An increase in the number of influenza and influenza-like illness diagnoses made by SOS Médecins associations in the region has been observed in recent weeks. This trend is more pronounced for the Strasbourg association.

  • In France, the influenza epidemic threshold was exceeded in week 52. According to data from the hospital laboratory network (RENAL) and the Grog Network, the influenza viruses circulating this year are type A and type B.

  • The number of bronchiolitis and bronchitis cases among children under 2 years of age has remained high over the past two weeks for the Mulhouse association but is beginning to decline for the Strasbourg association. In France, visits to hospital emergency departments for infant bronchiolitis are also currently decreasing.

  • In mainland France, the Sentinelles network reports that the epidemic threshold for acute gastroenteritis was exceeded in week 52.
