HIV/AIDS
In 2021, participation in the LaboVIH survey increased to 83%. High participation by LBMs in surveys and comprehensive reporting of new HIV diagnoses via e-DO are crucial for reliable surveillance.
HIV testing activity picked up again in 2021 (82 serological tests performed per 1,000 inhabitants); the positivity rate remained stable (1.1 positive serological tests per 1,000 tests performed).
Chlamydia trachomatis infection
In 2021, the screening rate for Chlamydia infections increased across all age groups and genders. The diagnosis rate followed the same trend, remaining consistently higher among people under 25 and among women.
Gonococcal infection
Screening for gonococcal infections also increased in 2021; women were screened more frequently overall than men. The majority of cases diagnosed at CeGIDD were men under the age of 25.
Syphilis
The syphilis screening rate increased in 2021 and remained higher among women under 25. The cases diagnosed at CeGIDD were predominantly men aged 26 to 49.
