Key Points

Flu

  • OSCOUR®: The number of emergency department visits for flu-like illness, across all age groups, remained stable in week 46 of 2023 compared to the previous week. The proportion of cases remains low and at levels similar to those observed last year.

  • SOS Médecins: The number of consultations for flu-like illness, across all age groups, is increasing in week 46 of 2023. The flu activity rate is 5.6% and remains higher than the activity rates observed during the same period in the previous two years.

Bronchiolitis

  • OSCOUR®: In week 46-2023, the proportion of activity related to bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age in emergency departments continues to rise. It stands at 16.8%, representing 269 visits. The proportion of hospitalizations for bronchiolitis among all hospitalizations following a visit to the emergency department is 30.5%, compared to 26.0% in week 45 of 2023.

  • SOS Médecins: In week 46 of 2023, the proportion of cases related to bronchiolitis among SOS Médecins cases fluctuated but remained at a high level. It stood at 10.8%, representing 64 consultations.

COVID-19

  • OSCOUR®: In week 46 of 2023, the number of emergency department visits for COVID-19 remained generally stable compared to the previous week (300 visits versus 312 in week 45 of 2023), representing 1.3% of total activity.

  • SOS Médecins: In week 46 of 2023, the number of SOS Médecins consultations for COVID-19 remained generally stable compared to previous weeks (193 consultations compared to 143 in week 45 of 2023 and 188 in week 44 of 2023), representing 2.7% of the activity of SOS Médecins associations in the region.
