Key Points

Flu

  • OSCOUR®: The number of emergency room visits for flu-like symptoms, across all age groups, decreased in week 01-2024 compared to the previous week (443 visits versus 550 in week 52-2023), but remains high; representing 1.7% of total activity.

  • SOS Médecins: The number of consultations for flu-like symptoms, across all age groups, also decreased in week 01-2024 (801 consultations compared to 980 in week 52-2023); the flu-related activity rate is 9.5% and remains high.

Bronchiolitis

  • OSCOUR®: In week 01-2024, the proportion of cases related to bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age in emergency departments continued to decline (14%), as did the number of visits (237 visits). The proportion of hospitalizations for bronchiolitis among all hospitalizations following a visit to the emergency department for children under 2 years of age is 29%.

  • SOS Médecins: In week 01-2024, the proportion of activity at SOS Médecins locations related to bronchiolitis remained stable at around 7%. However, the number of consultations is declining (33 consultations).

COVID-19

  • OSCOUR®: In week 01-2024, the number of emergency department visits for COVID-19 decreased compared to previous weeks (289 visits versus 399 in week 52-2023), representing 1.2% of total activity.

  • SOS Médecins: In week 01-2024, the number of SOS Médecins consultations for COVID-19 decreased compared to the previous week (108 consultations versus 174 in week 52-2023), representing 1.3% of activity for SOS Médecins associations in the region.

Acute Gastroenteritis

  • OSCOUR®: The number of emergency room visits for gastroenteritis, across all age groups, remains high in week 01-2024 compared to previous weeks, particularly among people aged 15 and older. The share of activity is 1.6%, representing 398 consultations.

  • SOS Médecins: The number of consultations for gastroenteritis stabilized in week 01-2024. The share of activity for this condition is 8.3%.
