Epidemiological Surveillance in the Lorraine Region. Update as of June 20, 2013.

Highlights

  • In hospitals and private practices alike, activity related to gastroenteritis has remained low for several weeks. This bulletin concludes surveillance of this condition for the 2012–2013 season.

  • In both hospitals and private practice, the number of asthma diagnoses increased in week 23, though this was not followed by an increase in hospitalizations. In week 24, this number dropped back to the levels observed in previous weeks.

  • After an increase in week 23, the number of allergy diagnoses decreased, both in hospitals and in private practice.

  • According to the surveillance map from the National Aerobiological Surveillance Network (RNSA), the entire Lorraine region is at high risk for grass pollen allergies for the period from June 14 to June 21, 2013.

  • Regarding the surveillance of emerging respiratory viruses, no cases have been confirmed to date in the Lorraine region. However, two cases were confirmed at MERSCoV centers in France in May.
