Key Findings

• In Moselle, an increase in emergency department activity has been observed over the past two weeks. This trend has not been observed in other departments in the region.

• Regionally, influenza activity remains low but is on the rise, both in emergency departments and at the SOS Médecins association in Meurthe-et-Moselle. It is comparable to what was observed two years ago, during the 2012-2013 winter season. Only samples testing positive for influenza A have been identified at the virology laboratory of the Nancy University Hospital.

• At the regional level, bronchiolitis activity among children under 2 years of age is intensifying. Last week, it accounted for 14% of emergency department activity and 12% of activity at the SOS Médecins association. These proportions are comparable to what was observed during the same period in the two previous seasons.

• Activity related to acute gastroenteritis is also on the rise and comparable to what was observed during the same period in previous seasons.
