Epidemiological surveillance in the Lorraine region. Update as of April 18, 2013.

Key Highlights

  • At both the national and regional levels, the end of the 2012–2013 influenza epidemic is confirmed, although influenza viruses continue to circulate and may be responsible for sporadic cases. Vigilance remains essential.

  • A decrease in activity at emergency facilities in Lorraine and at the SOS Médecins association in Meurthe-et-Moselle due to bronchiolitis is evident in week 15. The peak in activity related to bronchitis and bronchiolitis has ended since the end of the Christmas break.

  • Activity related to gastroenteritis continues in the Lorraine region.

  • Since October 1, 2012, the number of reported CO poisoning cases has been higher than that recorded during the same period last year.
