Epidemiological Surveillance in the Alsace Region. Update as of June 20, 2013.
Highlights
As activity related to gastroenteritis has decreased significantly in recent weeks, this bulletin concludes the surveillance of this condition for the 2012–2013 season.
A peak in allergy cases was observed in week 23 by the SOS Médecins association in Strasbourg. The number of allergy cases remains high in week 24 for both associations in the region.
According to the surveillance map from the National Aerobiological Surveillance Network (RNSA), Alsace is at high risk for allergies for the period from June 14 to 21, 2013, primarily due to the presence of grass pollen.
Regarding MERS-CoV surveillance, no new cases have been confirmed to date. However, the case definition has been updated and is available on page 2 of this bulletin.
