Epidemiological surveillance in the Alsace region. Update as of June 18, 2014.

Highlights

  • For the past four weeks, allergy-related activity has remained high for the SOS Médecins association in Strasbourg. This trend is less pronounced for the association in Mulhouse.

  • According to the bulletin from the National Aerobiological Surveillance Network (RNSA), Alsace, like most of France, is at very high risk for grass pollen allergies.

  • In week 24, an increase in the number of asthma diagnoses was observed for the Strasbourg association but not for the Mulhouse association.

  • The proportion of activity due to heat-related conditions increased significantly in week 24 for both Alsace associations, but the increase was more pronounced for the Strasbourg association. Compared to 2012 and 2013, the proportions observed in week 24 of 2014 remain within the expected range for periods of high temperatures.
