COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for the Grand Est Region, May 6, 2021

Key Points

In week 17 of 2021, the fourth week of the third lockdown, the number of new cases declined (10,664 new cases compared to 14,078 new cases in week 16 of 2021). This decrease occurred even though the number of people tested changed little, particularly due to the slowdown in testing activity on May 1 (193,658 compared to 190,329 people in week 16 of 2021). Nevertheless, in week 17 of 2021, the reopening of preschool and elementary schools allowed for a gradual resumption of routine testing conducted by the Ministry of Education.
