COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for the Grand Est Region as of July 29, 2021

Key Points

In the Grand Est region, the number of new cases in week 29 of 2021 rose sharply, as did the number of people tested (224,545 in week 29 of 2021 compared to 158,323 in week 28 of 2021). Consequently, the incidence rate has risen to 104.3 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants and now far exceeds the threshold for active viral circulation (set at 50 per 100,000 inhabitants). The positivity rate is also rising sharply (2.6% compared to 16% in week 28 of 2021).
