Champagne-Ardenne: 400 professionals trained in alcohol abuse prevention.

For general practitioners, addressing alcohol use with their patients remains difficult and taboo, and they are not always prepared to do so. In the Champagne-Ardenne region, doctors are being trained in alcohol screening and brief intervention (RPIB) so they can then train their peers. To date, 400 healthcare professionals—including about 200 doctors—have been trained. The essentials in five points, by Patrick Roua, a general practitioner coordinating this initiative.
