Health Monitoring During the Heat Wave in the Centre-Val de Loire Region. Update as of July 2, 2019.

Between June 25, 2019, and July 1, 2019, all six departments in the region were under an orange heat wave alert. The orange alert was lifted on June 30 (as of the 6 a.m. map) for all departments in the region.

  • Total healthcare utilization: Increase between June 25, 2019, and July 1, 2019, in emergency room visits for all causes (age 75 and older).

  • Healthcare utilization for the iCanicule1 composite indicator: Increase between June 25, 2019, and July 1, 2019, in the proportion of emergency room visits due to iCanicule among coded visits (ages 75 and older and all ages), in the proportion of hospitalizations following visits for iCanicule among coded hospitalizations (all ages), and a slight increase in the proportion of SOS Médecins calls for iCanicule (all ages and those aged 75 and older).
