Key Points

COVID-19

In Week 36, SARS-CoV-2 circulation began to rise again across the entire region, accompanied by a slight increase in new hospitalizations and new ICU admissions.

  • Incidence rates (IR) are rising in all age groups except among those aged 65–74, with a more pronounced increase among those under 15. IR are rising in all departments except Loir-et-Cher.

  • The BA.5 sublineage has been stable and predominant since week S24

  • Increase in the number of cases in acute care hospitals and stabilization in the number of deaths

Asthma

  • In week 36, in the Centre-Val de Loire region, the number of SOS Médecins calls for asthma among 2- to 14-year-olds (n = 10) was significantly higher than in week 35 (n = 1) and accounted for 3.4% of consultations

Extreme heat, heat wave

  • In week 36, in the Centre-Val de Loire region, the number of emergency room visits for heat-related conditions (n = 26) was down compared to week 35 (n = 33) and accounted for 0.2% of visits

Monkeypox

  • As of September 12, 2022, at 12:00 p.m., 38 confirmed cases had been reported in the Centre-Val de Loire region
