COVID-19
Continued decline in viral circulation observed across various virological surveillance indicators (incidence rate, positivity rate, and testing rate). This trend is observed across all age groups and all departments.
The BA.2 sublineage is predominant, accounting for 95.6% of interpretable sequences from the Flash S19 survey (05/09); there has been an increase in the proportion of samples carrying the L452 (C1) mutation (2.3% in S20 vs. 4.9% in S21).
Decrease in emergency room visits for suspected COVID-19.
Decrease in new hospitalizations and stabilization of new admissions to critical care.
Decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases in ESMS.
Acute gastroenteritis
In week 21, activity related to gastroenteritis was down in hospital emergency departments
Oscour®: moderate activity level in week 21; the number of hospital emergency department visits for gastroenteritis (n = 155) was down compared to the previous week (n = 230) and accounted for 1.3% of coded visits (1.7% in week 20). Activity related to gastroenteritis was higher than that observed in 2021 and 2020 during the same period. Among children under 5 years of age, activity related to gastroenteritis was down compared to the previous week (4.5% vs. 8.6% in week 20).
In week 21, the hospitalization rate was 20.6% (21.1% among children under 5 years of age), stable compared to the previous week (20.9% in week 20), and gastroenteritis accounted for 1.5% of the total number of hospitalizations (2.0% in week 20).
Sentinel Network: In Week 21, the regional incidence rate of outpatient visits for acute diarrhea was estimated at 51 cases per 100,000 population (95% confidence interval: [13–86]), an increase compared to the consolidated incidence rate for week 23 (30 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, 95% confidence interval: [6–54]).
