COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for the Centre-Val de Loire Region as of March 25, 2021
Key Points
A sharp increase in the incidence rate compared to the previous week. At the departmental level, this increase is observed in all departments. The rise in incidence is observed across all age groups. Although less pronounced, this increase also affects those aged 75 and older, among whom a decline had been observed since Week 8.
The sharpest increase in the incidence rate is among those aged 0–14, against a backdrop of a significant rise in testing rates and a decline in the positivity rate, most likely linked to testing campaigns organized in schools
Increase in emergency department visits for suspected COVID-19 (+26% between weeks 11 and 10).
Increase in the number of reports of the 501Y.V1 variant (United Kingdom) and decrease for the 501Y.V2 (South Africa) and 501Y.V3 (Brazil) variants.
