COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for the Centre-Val de Loire Region as of July 29, 2021

In week 29, virological surveillance indicators rose, particularly among young adults. The incidence rate was the lowest in mainland France. Increase in the proportion of the L452R mutation.
Increase in the incidence rate across all departments. Higher incidence rate among those aged 15–44. Increase in the positivity rate and testing rate.
The L452R mutation was predominant in the region (87% of screened tests).
Stabilization in the proportion of SOS Médecins calls for suspected COVID-19. Increase in hospital activity and emergency department activity.
Regional vaccination coverage as of July 25, 2021: 60.4% for one dose and 50.8% for the full course. Note that 16.5% of those aged 80 and older have not yet received a first dose.
