COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for the Centre-Val de Loire Region as of December 31, 2021

In Week 51, virological indicators rose for the 11th consecutive week.

  • Increase in the incidence rate (IR) in all departments; 3 departments have an IR exceeding 400 cases per 100,000 inhabitants: Eure-et-Loir, Indre-et-Loire, Loiret

  • IR rising among those aged 15–44 and 45–64

  • Increase in the positivity rate (PR) in the general population and among symptomatic individuals

  • Stabilization of emergency room visits for suspected COVID-19 and admissions to critical care

Prevention

  • Regional vaccination coverage as of November 27: 79.1% for one dose, 78.0% for the full series, and 35.5% for the booster dose.

  • Vaccination coverage among those eligible for the booster dose was 82.1% (80.7% nationally)

  • Importance of combined measures: vaccination, including the booster dose for all eligible individuals, participation in contact tracing, and adherence to preventive measures
