Key points

Bronchiolitis

• No epidemic activity. Decrease in RSV detection according to the Virology Laboratories at Rennes University Hospital and the Virology Laboratories at Brest University Hospital. Other viruses capable of causing bronchiolitis are circulating, notably rhinoviruses.

• Maternal vaccination and infant immunization with monoclonal antibodies are two alternative prevention strategies against RSV bronchiolitis.

Influenza and influenza-like illness

• Epidemic activity.

• Detection of influenza A and influenza B viruses according to the virology laboratories at the Rennes University Hospital and the Brest University Hospital. A sharp increase in activity, greater than what was observed in previous seasons.

Gastroenteritis

• Moderate activity.

• Indicators are consistent with those observed in previous years.

Emergency room visits and SOS Médecins consultations

• Increase in the number of emergency room visits (+3.98%) and increase in the number of SOS Médecins consultations for all causes (+7.89%) during Week 4 compared to Week 3.

• The volumes of emergency department visits and SOS Médecins consultations (all causes) are similar to observations from previous years, for the same period and all age groups.
