Key Points

COVID-19

  • Low activity.

  • Oscour®: decrease in the number of visits compared to the previous week (106 visits in Week 45 vs. 140 in Week 44); 53% of these visits resulted in hospitalization. Suspected COVID-19 cases account for less than 1% of emergency department activity across all age groups.

  • SOS Médecins: decrease in the number of SOS Médecins consultations compared to the previous week (54 consultations in Week 45 versus 78 in Week 44). Across all age groups, suspected COVID-19 cases accounted for 1.3% of SOS Médecins activity in Week 45 (versus 2.1% in Week 44).

Bronchiolitis

  • Epidemic activity.

  • Decrease in the number of emergency room visits compared to Week 44. Continued high detection rates of RSV and rhinoviruses/enteroviruses according to the virology laboratories at the University Hospitals of Brest and Rennes.

Influenza

  • Non-epidemic activity.

  • Stable number of SOS Médecins consultations. Since the start of surveillance, very sporadic detection of influenza A viruses according to data from the virology laboratory at the Rennes University Hospital (No detection at the Brest University Hospital).

Asthma

  • Continued high activity in hospital emergency departments among children.
