Bronchiolitis

• Epidemic activity. Increased detection of RSV according to the virology laboratories at the Rennes and Brest University Hospitals. Other viruses capable of causing bronchiolitis are circulating, notably rhinoviruses.

• Maternal vaccination and infant immunization with monoclonal antibodies are two alternative strategies for preventing RSV bronchiolitis.

Influenza and influenza-like illness

• Non-epidemic activity. Detection of influenza A and influenza B viruses according to data from the Virology Laboratory at the Rennes University Hospital. Only influenza A has been detected at the Brest University Hospital.

• The fall vaccination campaign against influenza and COVID-19 began on October 15.
