Bronchiolitis
Epidemic on the decline
Bronchiolitis-related activity remains at a post-epidemic level in S06: 6.9% (vs. 8.6% in S-1) of emergency department visits; 2.6% (vs. 3.2%) of SOS Médecins calls. Activity is lower than in the two previous winters.
The rate of bronchiolitis hospitalizations among all coded hospitalizations remains stable at 20%.
Decrease in RSV circulation in community laboratories (4.4% in W06 vs. 6.0% in W-1) as well as in hospitals (3.8% in W06 vs. 4.7% in W-1).
Since week 40-2024, 42 cases of bronchiolitis (< 2 years) have been reported by the sentinel intensive care unit network.
Influenza
10th week of the epidemic
Influenza-related activity continues to decline among emergency department visits in W06, with 4.8% of cases attributed to influenza (vs. 5.9% in W-1), while the rate of influenza-related hospitalizations among all coded hospitalizations remains stable (3.8%). The number and proportion of flu-related visits among those under 15 are also decreasing but remain at high levels, with 386 cases and 9.5% of flu cases (vs. 527 and 12% in Week 1).
Activity is also decreasing among SOS Médecins calls: 25.0% (vs. 26.6% in S-1) in S06. This decline also applies to those under 15 years of age.
Viral circulation is decreasing in private laboratories (30.3% in Week 6 vs. 38% in Week 1), as well as in hospitals (14.5% in Week 6 vs. 20.2% in Week 1).
COVID-19
Low activity
The SARS-CoV-2 virus continues to circulate at low levels in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, as in other regions. The proportion of cases handled by SOS Médecins and emergency departments for suspected COVID-19 remains low.
Since week 40-2024, 38 severe cases of COVID-19 (all ages) have been reported by the sentinel intensive care unit network.
