Health Surveillance Bulletin: Notifiable Infectious Diseases
A Health Surveillance Bulletin (BVS) from the Cire Bourgogne Franche-Comté, focusing on notifiable infectious diseases (NIDs) reported in 2010 in both regions, was posted online this week on the InVS website. This report will soon be supplemented by a retrospective study of NID reports for the 2005–2009 period.Reporting a MDO to the regionally competent health agency1 enables the implementation of immediate management measures to prevent the emergence of new cases and is also used for epidemiological surveillance and the evaluation of prevention policies. To achieve these objectives and given the frequency of these diseases, it is essential that reporting be as comprehensive as possible.
