COVID-19

SARS-CoV-2 circulation continues to rise for the third consecutive week at the same rate (+54% vs. +53% last week). The incidence rate is approaching 1,200 per 100,000 people. It is increasing across all age groups and in all counties. Testing and positivity rates are also rising.

Flu

• The region has been in an epidemic phase since S10.

• Activity at SOS Médecins and in emergency departments continues to rise, exceeding 2019–2020 levels (Figures 1 and 2). The trend shown in Figure 1 should be interpreted with caution due to a lack of data transmission from SOS Médecins for two out of four associations starting February 16, 2022.

• A new severe case of influenza was reported by the intensive care unit sentinel network this week (a total of 14 ICU admissions since late 2021).

• Two new outbreaks of acute respiratory infection (ARI) in group settings (8 ongoing outbreaks out of 26 reported since September 1, 2021. Among the reports, 6 are linked to influenza).

Bronchiolitis

• Activity at SOS Médecins clinics and emergency departments for bronchiolitis is low and is within the ranges observed during the two previous seasons or even lower.

Acute gastroenteritis

• The rate of visits to emergency departments for gastroenteritis is higher than in the two previous seasons.
