This week’s news is marked by confirmation that the flu season has begun. The Rhône-Alpes region is among those with the highest incidence rates to date. The increase in flu activity is clear in both outpatient visits and emergency room visits. Additionally, several flu outbreaks in nursing homes have been reported in recent days.Positive test results for influenza viruses are primarily for the A (H3N2) virus. Since the start of surveillance for severe influenza cases (November 1, 2011), 12 cases of influenza (including 4 children under 2 years of age) have been admitted to intensive care. [...]
