Influenza Surveillance Report – Update as of February 25, 2015In mainland France and the Auvergne region, the influenza epidemic is widespread this year. The peak was reached in week 7, and the number of outpatient visits for flu-like symptoms has been declining for the past two weeks.Since week 5, all-cause mortality has been above threshold levels, with an increase observed largely among people over 65 years of age. The proportion of deaths linked to influenza and other respiratory infections cannot be estimated with precision. This trend is observed in Auvergne, in France, and also in several European countries.
