Summary

More than a month after the start of the easing of lockdown measures, epidemiological indicators continue to decline or stabilize at low levels. The number of patients suspected of having or diagnosed with COVID-19 is steadily decreasing, whether in urban areas, hospitals, or long-term care facilities.

While the impact on the healthcare system is less severe and the situation is generally improving, the virus is still present, as evidenced by the existence of several clusters. Of the 9 clusters currently being monitored in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, 7 originated from intra-family transmission, which can sometimes spread to communities (such as schools or workplaces). These clusters remind us of the importance of adhering to preventive measures, even in private settings, at home, or when socializing with loved ones.

The CoviPrev online survey, conducted regularly by Santé publique France, shows a significant decline in the consistent adoption of preventive measures between late May (May 27–29) and early June (June 9–10), including hygiene measures and mask-wearing. This relaxation could be explained by the lifting of lockdown restrictions and growing doubts about the usefulness or relevance of these measures in the context of a sharp decline in the epidemic.
