Situation Analysis

All epidemiological surveillance indicators point to the epidemic continuing. None of them indicate that the peak has been passed to date. This epidemic is widespread throughout mainland Guadeloupe and the nearby islands. No unusual severity has been associated with this epidemic to date. The predominance of DENV-4, observed since June, continues to this day. This serotype had not circulated in Guadeloupe since the 2005 epidemic. The situation remains at Phase 4, Level 1 of the Psage Dengue* (confirmed epidemic). Given the epidemiological situation, it is important to remind the public of the importance of eliminating mosquito breeding sites and taking personal precautions against mosquitoes. In the event of sudden onset of fever, it is recommended to consult your primary care physician.
