Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

The dengue epidemic continues throughout French Guiana, except in the west; although an outbreak persists in Mana, a return to normal is observed in this area. Across French Guiana, the number of clinically suggestive cases was once again on the rise, while the number of laboratory-confirmed cases continued to decline, though remaining at high levels. Serotypes DEN-1, DEN-2, DEN-3, and DEN-4 are co-circulating, with a strong predominance of serotype DEN-2.Given the overall epidemiological situation, it is important to remember the importance of eliminating mosquito breeding sites and protecting oneself against mosquitoes. In the event of sudden onset of fever, it is recommended to consult your primary care physician.
