Dengue Surveillance in Guadeloupe and the Northern Islands. Update as of June 4, 2020.
Epidemiological Situation
Guadeloupe: ongoing epidemic. The predominant circulating serotype is serotype 2. Dengue surveillance indicators remain high, and epidemic outbreaks have been identified in the municipalities of Bouillante, Petit Bourg, Le Gosier, and Saint-François.
Saint Martin: ongoing epidemic. The predominant circulating serotype is serotype 1. Dengue surveillance indicators are decreasing as of late May (week 2020-22). Three epidemic foci have been identified: Cul-de-sac, Baie Orientale, and Baie Nettlé.
Saint-Barthélemy: The increase in the number of consultations for suspected dengue continues. The number of biologically confirmed cases is high, with 16 cases in week 2020-22. Local healthcare professionals confirm a sharp seasonal resurgence of dengue cases, observed over the past few weeks. Two new outbreaks have been identified in Gustavia and Vittet, in addition to the two previously known outbreaks (Grand Cul-de-Sac and Saline). The situation in this community must therefore be monitored even more closely.
