Dengue Surveillance in the Caribbean. Update as of September 21, 2023.

Key Points

  • In Guadeloupe and Martinique, all dengue surveillance indicators have continued to rise since the start of the epidemic, which began in both territories at the end of July (week 2023–30). The DENV-2 serotype has been identified in all cases investigated in Martinique and Guadeloupe.

  • In Saint Martin: Confirmed sporadic cases have been reported. The epidemiological situation remains calm but is being closely monitored.

  • In Saint-Barthélemy: The previously calm epidemiological situation is becoming more active, with an increase in laboratory-confirmed cases since early August (week 2023-31) and emergency department visits for dengue syndrome reported since week 2023-37. The situation is being monitored closely.
