Dengue Fever in the Caribbean. Update as of October 5, 2023.

Key Points

In Guadeloupe and Martinique, dengue surveillance indicators have shown a slowing trend since the start of the epidemic, which began in both territories at the end of July (week 2023–30). The DENV-2 serotype has been identified in all investigated cases in Martinique and Guadeloupe.

In Saint Martin and Saint Barthélemy: An increase in the number of biologically confirmed cases over the past two weeks confirms significantly more active circulation on these two islands. The technical committees for dengue monitoring will meet over the next two weeks to assess the situation based on the various dengue monitoring indicators according to the respective PSAGE dengue plans.

Phase 1 of the PSAGE remains in effect in Saint Martin and Saint Barthélemy: sporadic cases.
