Dengue Fever in the Caribbean. Update as of October 12, 2023.

Key Points

Guadeloupe and Martinique are in Phase 4, Level 1 of the PSAGE dengue alert system: confirmed epidemic. Dengue surveillance indicators are showing a decline for the first time since the start of the epidemic. This trend remains to be confirmed by surveillance data from the next two weeks. The DENV-2 serotype has been identified in all cases investigated in Martinique and Guadeloupe.

Saint Martin and Saint Barthélemy are in Phase 1 of the PSAGE dengue system: sporadic cases. Note that there has been an increase in the number of biologically confirmed cases over the past three weeks, indicating significantly more active circulation on these two islands. The technical committees for dengue monitoring are currently consulting to assess the situation based on the various dengue monitoring indicators.
