COVID-19 in the Caribbean. Update as of July 11, 2024.

Key Points

  • In Martinique, both in private practices and for SOS Médecins visits, the number of cases clinically suggestive of COVID-19 has decreased for the first time in five weeks. A decrease in the number of emergency room visits was also observed during week 2024–27. Hospitalizations and the positivity rate remain stable. However, virological indicators show that SARS-CoV-2 is still actively circulating.

  • In Guadeloupe, the number of clinically suggestive cases is decreasing for the second consecutive week. For the first time in five weeks, the number of emergency room visits is decreasing. Virological indicators, however, show active circulation of SARS-CoV-2.

  • In Saint Martin, following a marked increase in epidemiological surveillance indicators for COVID-19 in the city and in hospitals during weeks 2024–26, these indicators are now decreasing in week 2024–27.

  • In Saint-Barthélemy, although the number of outpatient visits is increasing, only one emergency room visit without hospitalization was recorded.
