  • In Nouvelle-Aquitaine, on September 9, 2026, 46 locally acquired cases of chikungunya, spread across eight transmission clusters, were identified in the Gironde department. With the exception of the first case, all identified cases began showing symptoms on or after July 20, 2026. Of these transmission episodes, seven are still active, and the number of cases is changing. In addition, one locally acquired case of dengue was identified in Dordogne; that episode has been closed.
