COVID-19 vaccination complements the measures already in place and is primarily aimed at reducing the number of severe cases and deaths attributable to the disease (hospitalizations, intensive care admissions, and deaths). To ensure everyone has access to accurate information, Santé publique France is rolling out new resources on COVID-19 vaccination for the benefit of as many people as possible, including healthcare professionals, the most vulnerable populations, and the general public. By providing authoritative information, Santé publique France addresses questions from all segments of the public regarding COVID-19 vaccination.
A new guide for your practice on COVID-19 vaccination is now available to healthcare professionals
Healthcare professionals are key players in the COVID-19 vaccination effort and play a pivotal role in conveying information to patients. In their daily practice, they are confronted not only with their own questions but also with those of their patients. To best support them, new resources have been made available to facilitate dialogue with patients and guide their practice.
The brochure from the “Guidelines for Your Practice” series, dedicated to COVID-19 vaccination, is designed to answer questions that healthcare professionals and their patients may have. It covers both general aspects of COVID-19 vaccination and more practical questions. Distributed to healthcare professionals, it is also available for download on the Agency’s website.
Communication tools for the general public and vulnerable individuals
True to its commitment to making information accessible to as many people as possible, Santé publique France has developed tools for people with low literacy levels, with the help of associations and partners. Special attention has been given to people in precarious situations, who are particularly at risk during this health crisis. These practical guides take into account the needs of those furthest removed from the healthcare system. Highly accessible, illustrated, and translated into several languages, they are designed to help people understand the information so they can take care of their health.
The new fact sheets discuss the benefits of COVID-19 vaccination and provide practical information on the steps to follow to get vaccinated, ranging from coverage and scheduling appointments to the importance of receiving two doses for full protection.
These resources are available for download on the Santé publique France website and on Vaccination-info-service.fr.
Vaccination-info-service.fr : a go-to website accessible to everyone
In addition to these tools, Vaccination-info-service.fr, the official reference website on vaccination launched in 2017, provides factual, practical, and scientific information: what vaccination is, its history, the diseases it targets, vaccination schedules, and more.
All of these tools contribute to better public information on vaccination. This transparency responds to a strong demand and is all the more important given that vaccinating as many people as possible is now essential to overcoming the unprecedented health crisis we are experiencing.
The section dedicated to COVID-19 vaccination aims to answer as many questions as possible through various topics: “Who should get vaccinated and why?”, “Efficacy and impact”, “Main contraindications”…
The site features a “Professionals’ Area,” specifically designed for healthcare professionals, who play a key role in vaccination. This section, like the rest of the site, is intended to be regularly updated and expanded.
Transparent information on the vaccination campaign
Every day, a report is compiled on the COVID-19 vaccination campaign, launched last December, to track its progress and details.
The following data is available as open data:
data on vaccinated individuals, by age, gender, region, and target group: on the Géodes platform and data.gouv.fr
data on the delivery and stock of vaccine doses by region, produced by the Ministry of Health and Solidarity and available on data.gouv.fr
