Call for Expressions of Interest for Stakeholder Participation in the French ...

Santé publique France, in collaboration with ANSES, is issuing a call for expressions of interest to invite stakeholders to participate in the French Hub of the PARC partnership project. Deadline:...

The European Partnership for the Assessment of Risks from Chemicals (PARC) is one of the projects selected for funding under the European Union’s “Horizon Europe” Framework Program for 2021–2027. Coordinated by the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES), this large-scale partnership aims to develop a risk assessment framework for next-generation chemicals to better protect human health and the environment.

Submitted by ANSES and its French and European partners in response to a Horizon Europe call for proposals in September 2021, the PARC project was favorably evaluated by the European Commission in January 2022 and officially launched on May 1, 2022. Santé publique France will, together with the German Federal Environment Agency (UBA), provide scientific coordination for Work Package (WP) 4, dedicated to monitoring exposure to chemicals, and has been designated as the national contact point responsible for coordinating the Hub, which constitutes the network of French stakeholders interested in the project.

The PARC project in a nutshell:

  • a 7-year partnership under Horizon Europe, the EU’s framework program for research and innovation funding for 2021–2027;

  • 200 partners from 28 countries and at the European level, including national agencies and research organizations in the fields of the environment and public health, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), and the European Environment Agency (EEA);

  • a budget of €400 million, 50% of which is funded by the European Union and 50% by the Member States.
