Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Sedentary Behavior: A Profile of Adolescents.

The Health and Nutrition Barometer published in 2004 by INPES provides an overview of the eating habits and physical activity levels of adolescents aged 12 to 17. In general, they eat few fruits, vegetables, and fish, and consume a lot of cereal, cakes, and sugary drinks such as soda. Proportionally, more of them play sports than their older peers, but when they do, they don’t play for as long. Finally, surprisingly, they spend less time in front of the TV and video game consoles than young adults (ages 25–44). [article excerpt]
