In the "Practical Assistance" section, an overview is presented, following a seminar held in June 1999 at the initiative of the Central-West Interregional Directorate for Education and Health Promotion, on the involvement of health education committees in regional suicide prevention plans (regional health projects). The objectives were to establish a network for knowledge exchange, to promote work on the concepts and approaches to primary suicide prevention, and to develop and analyze the committees’ practices.
