Week 38 (September 14–20, 2020):

• In the Indian Ocean region, during the fourth week of school in Mayotte and ^{the fifth} in Réunion, the number of emergency department visits for asthma among children under 15, as well as the proportion of hospitalizations following these visits, remained stable (92 vs. 95 visits and 39% vs. 40% hospitalization rate in Week 37). The proportion of emergency department visits for asthma among children has risen slightly this week and remains high compared to previous years (11% vs. 5% between 2017 and 2019).

• Nationally, during the third week of school in mainland France, asthma-related visits in children under 15 are down in emergency departments (-35%, or -1,471 visits) as well as in the SOS Médecins network (-37%, or -309 cases).

• The observed levels of care-seeking are comparable to those of the past three years.
