• In the Indian Ocean region, the number of emergency department visits for asthma among children under 15 increased in Week 35 (the week of the start of the school year in Réunion) compared to Week 34. The proportion of cases also rose (8% in Week 35 vs. 5% in Week 34) and was at a level comparable to that of previous years.

• Nationally, asthma-related visits among children under 15 were on the rise in emergency departments (+12%, or +78 visits) and at SOS Médecins clinics (+17%, or +25 visits) compared to the previous week. Activity rates within the SOS Médecins network and in emergency departments remained at low levels comparable to those of previous years.
