Week 38 (September 18–24, 2023):

• In the Indian Ocean region, the fourth week of school in Réunion and the fifth week in Mayotte, visits to emergency rooms for asthma were down among children under 15 (74 vs. 83 visits in Week 37, a decrease of 11%), as was the proportion of hospitalizations following a visit (26% in Week 38 vs. 36% in Week 37).

• Nationally, during the third week of the school year in mainland France, asthma-related visits among children under 15 continued to rise, though at a less pronounced rate than in Week 37: +25% at SOS Médecins (+161 visits) and +5% in emergency departments (+179 visits). The proportion of hospitalizations following a visit to the emergency department remained stable (30% vs. 32% in Week 37).
