Week 34 (August 21–27, 2023):

• In the Indian Ocean region, during the second week of school in Réunion and the first week in Mayotte, there was an increase in the number of emergency room visits for asthma among children under 15 (69 visits vs. 48 in Week 33, a 35% increase), with a share of activity (6.6% vs. 5.0% in Week 33) comparable to that of previous years.

• Nationally, asthma-related visits among children under 15 remain slightly down in the SOS Médecins network (-17%, or -41 visits) and are stable in emergency departments compared to previous weeks (Table 2). The proportion of cases remains at a low level comparable to that of previous years in both networks.
