• In the Indian Ocean region, during the second week of the new school year in Réunion, the number of emergency department visits for asthma among children under 15, as well as their share of total activity, increased slightly (60 visits and 6.6% in S34 vs. 45 visits and 4.8% in S33). The observed level is comparable to that of the same period in the previous three years. The proportion of hospitalizations following emergency room visits remains high at 35%.

• Nationally, one week before the start of the school year in mainland France, asthma-related visits among children under 15 increased in the SOS Médecins network (+45%, or +46 cases) and, to a lesser extent, in emergency departments (+5%, or +22 visits) (Table 2). The proportion of hospitalizations following emergency room visits rose slightly to 27% (vs. 23% in S33). In both networks, the observed levels are comparable to those of the three previous years during the same period.
